There's no excuse not to garden, says Nick Mancini, a master garden who found his calling more than 60 years ago in Italy. Mancini, a Westport resident, is certified as a master gardener and manages a plot at the community gardens next to Long Lots School.
The gardens expanded this year to accomodate a surge in interested gardeners. Mancini came to the gardens on Wednesday evening to teach fellow gardeners about the intricacies of growing crops. He spoke with Patch before his talk started.
