Here Today: Art's Delicatessen

A classic Italian-American deli returns to town.

may have been closed for nearly 20 years, but Westporters have not forgotten about the quality sandwiches and other tasty dishes that were served up at a reasonable price at the very same location just west of the Saugatuck River at 13 Post Road West.

"It's great to go back into the small family business," said owner Richard Falcone, who worked at the deli with his father, Arthur Falcone, when he ran the business until 1990.

Falcone is keeping with family tradition and continues to serve locals with a smile alongside his two sons, Chris and Richard.

"It feels good to be working with my boys," Falcone added.

Art's re-opened last week and business has been 'excellent,' a testament that Westporters have not forgotten about the gem Falcone's father, 'Art,' operated in our town decades ago.

Art's features both breakfast and lunch options, including breakfast sandwiches, subs (made-to-order) and specialty sandwiches. You also can grab a quick cup of coffee and a pastry -- you'll have a wide variety of European food items to choose from while your there.
