University's Shabbat at Conservative Synagogue with 'Shabbatones'

If you miss "Spring Fling in the Quad" or have ever dreamed of singing "Adon Olam" to the tune of "The Red and The Blue," then join The Conservative Synagogue(TCS) this Friday, March 19, at 6:15pm and Saturday morning, March 20, at 9:15am, when TCS welcomes "The Shabbatones," the Jewish a cappella singing group of The University of Pennsylvania.

The program includes Kabbalat Shabbat services and dinner; "Penn Shabbat v'Penn Shalom;" USY Shul-in and Shabbat morning program for youth/teens (grade 9-12) coinciding with Shabbat Experience; Philly Steak Sandwich Seudah Shelishit with The Shabbatones for the university's alumni, students and friends (reservations required); and finishing with a Saturday night concert featuring The Shabbatones and including The Conservative Synagogue's own Shir Fun youth singers and TCS Chorale. The concert is free of charge.

Daffodil Dash 5K Race

Just like the hopeful little Daffodils that push their heads up through the still chilly earth, heralding the coming of warm weather, hundreds of runners of all ages will turn out on April 11 for the first annual Daffodil Dash in beautiful Cranbury Park on the Norwalk/Wilton border. This will be a great family 5K trail run through scenic woods and fields and walkers are very welcome as well. There will be a fun-run for kids and festivities for all ages. The 3.1-mile race will start at 8:30 a.m. Register on active.com (search Daffodil Dash) by March 30 to be assured a free race-day T-shirt. Prizes will be given to winners in various age groups. Pre-registration is $25, race-day registration is $30 and all proceeds will go to support Town & Country Montessori in Wilton. "It's really a great way to get families to spend time together outdoors," says race organizer Jennifer Reese.

Town & Country Montessori is 20-plus-year-old American Montessori Society affiliate school. It is a 30-child school for ages three through six that believes in approaching each child as an individual, and follows the teaching philosophy of Maria Montessori to enable each child to reach their full potential in a warm and supportive environment. Caring and respect for others, the environment, and the community are all fostered—so this outdoor event on April 11 to bring the community together after a long winter seems particularly appropriate. Connecticut Boating and Jetski License Course - 1-Day Format!

When: Every Saturday and Sunday from March 27, 2010 until May 31, 2010
Time: 9:00pm–5:00pm

This course meets the CT and USCG requirements for PWC Operation as well as Youth and Adult Boating Certification (REQUIRED in CT). Upon successful completion, you will have met the requirements and can operate a PWC (Jetski) or boat. You will receive a certificate (a/k/a Connecticut Boating License) upon successful completion of this course- certificate received same day as class.

The course is designed as a comprehensive boating course, teaching the fundamentals of safe boating operation. Approved by the National Association of Boating Law Administrators, CT requires classroom instruction, and this class includes the following topics:
