Earthplace announced the addition of two board members to the Earthplace Family, Emil Albanese and Michael Delgass.
Emil Albanese is founder, president and CEO of aE&t Worldwide Insurance Services, LLC., an insurance and financial firm providing consulting and procurement services in Life, Disability, as well as Group Insurance, Employee/Executive benefits, Personal Pension planning and Long Term Care services, to 90,000 Corporate and individual clients in 34 states and 6 countries. Emil is a National Quality Award Winner and a Member of the Field Advisory Committee for multiple Insurance carriers, as well as appearing in the Who’s Who in the Financial Services Industry. Emil has served on numerous corporate boards, including Presidential Life Insurance Company and AIG/US Life Insurance Co./American General and is the Board Advisor for Flatbush Federal Savings Bank. Emil is the current Chairman of the Board at LJ Productions in Washington DC.
Emil serves as the Chairman of the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency/Norwalk Economic Development Corporation, where he has been on board since 2004. He has served on the board of the Make a Wish Foundation of CT since 2004, was elected Vice Chairperson in 2006. He was the creator and Managing Director of The Harvest Ride, an annual event currently benefiting The Make a Wish Foundation of CT. Emil is also a member of the board for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk and serves as the Development Chair for the Norwalk Education Foundation. He is a Past President of Sound Cyclists Bicycle Club; former Chairman/Creator of the SCBC Giving Council; and former Chairman of the Board of the Courage To Speak Foundation.
Emil is passionate about Earthplace and its innovative environmental programs, and will serve as the co-chair for the First Annual Water Ball to be held in June and corporate chair for the Green Earth Gala to be held on November 12, 2011. He has been a member of Earthplace since 2007, and he resides in Norwalk with his son who attends the Earthplace Nursery School.
Michael Delgass joined Sontag Advisory LLC in 2005, and is a principal of the firm, and heads the Westport office. Michael leverages his trust and estates legal background and crafts unique financial / investment solutions for the firm’s clients. Prior to joining Sontag Advisory LLC, Michael was a partner at prominent law firms, including Day Berry & Howard, LLP and Cummings & Lockwood, LLC. Michael’s expertise is in the areas of estate, tax, succession, asset protection, and business planning.
Michael has authored or edited treatises such as Settlement of Estates in Connecticut and Illinois Estate Planning, and articles such as “HEET Wave,” “Design GRATs to Reap Court-Approved Extra Tax Savings,” “Pecuniary Dynastic Offshore Trusts,” and “Financial Reporting for the Family Office.”
Michael has been featured numerous times within the national media, and has appeared as a guest on nationally-syndicated radio shows. Michael is a former Adjunct Professor of Estate and Gift Taxation at Northwestern University School of Law, and is also former faculty member of the National Trust School and National Graduate Trust School of the American Bankers Association. Michael served on the board of Soundwaters in Stamford and is a member of the Earthplace Harbor Watch/River Watch committee. Michael and his family have been members of Earthplace since 2005. He lives in Weston with his wife and four children, the youngest of whom attends the Earthplace Nursery School.
