Westport Girl Scout Volunteer Receives National Honor

Girl Scouts of Connecticut is proud to announce that Amy Randich of Westport was awarded the prestigious Girl Scout Appreciation Pin at the organization’s Annual Meeting on May 23.

A national recognition for adult Girl Scouts, the Appreciation Pin recognizes a member who practices the values of inclusive behavior and who has delivered outstanding service above expectations to at least one geographic area within the state they serve.

Randich has been Westport’s Service Unit Manager for five years. She has reinvigorated the Service Unit and leaders by running efficient, informative leader meetings. While she has been a Service Unit Manager, she increased participation at Thinking Day activities by 44 percent. She initiated, planned, and ran a Girl Scout Kick-off Campfire, which was a huge success, increasing participation by Westport Girl Scouts at camps.

All of the recipients of this year’s Appreciation Pin are inspiring, dedicated Girl Scout volunteers with a deep commitment to building girls of courage, confidence and character. Their exemplary leadership has helped Girl Scouts throughout Connecticut gain important lifetime skills they need to discover themselves and their values, connect with others to build healthy relationships, and take action in their communities to make the world a better place.
