Stephen Rubin, Republican candidate for State Representative for the 136th District representing Westport, announced today the formation of his campaign committee comprised of some of the town’s most prominent Republicans. Among those serving on the committee are: Former State Representative Jo Fuchs-Luscombe; Westport Republican Town Committee Chairwoman Desiree Soli; Connecticut Republican Party State Central Committee member Tim Wetmore; Westport RTC Vice Chairs Brandi Briggs and Karen Hess; former Westport Republican Town Committee Chair Bob Zappi, Westport RTC member Jordan Gal; and Westport RTM member George Underhill. Westport RTC member Carla Rea will serve as the Rubin for Westport 2012Campaign Manager, and Ted Youngling will serve as the campaign’s Treasurer.
“Westporters are responding enthusiastically to my proposals to help create jobs in Connecticut and rein in the state government’s out of control spending,” said Mr. Rubin. “Voters understand that our state must change course so we can preserve our quality of life. My new campaign committee will be instrumental in helping me deliver this message to all Westporters, and I am delighted to have their support and counsel.”
Stephen Rubin has been a resident of Westport for more than 30 years and, among many other town organizations, has been a member of Westport’s Representative Town Meeting (RTM) since 1993, representing (due to redistricting) Districts 3, 9 and 7. He currently serves on the RTM’s Education, Health and Human Services, Rules, Computer and Public Protection Committees. Stephen Rubin and his wife Toni have one daughter and two grandchildren.
