Westport Woman's Club Prepares for Upcoming Storm Season

[Editor's Note: This announcement was originally published on July 12.]

Trees around the historic Sidney Watts House, located at 44 Imperial Avenue and owned by , received professional trimming on Thursday, July 12 when Jimmy Davis of TREETECH, LLC stepped up to the plate to offer his services as a licensed arborist free of charge to the non-profit organization.

Awareness about the importance of tree trimming was driven home to all Connecticut residents last year after the power outages and property damage that Hurricane Irene and the October snowstorm created.

“The club house generates a significant rental revenue stream that helps support the community service grants and scholarships that the Westport Woman’s Club provides every year,” said Mary Lee Clayton, WWC President.  “It’s important that the property look inviting and be safe for members, renters and passers-by. We wanted to get the trees trimmed before the next storm season starts and are very appreciative the generous support from Jimmy and his team.”

The Westport Woman's Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of charitable, cultural, educational and public health services. In addition to supporting numerous community services, the Club offers a great number of social activities for its members and for the community at large.
