AUDITION CALL: Godspell at The Bijou Theatre

Godspell Audition Notice

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2014:  The Bijou Theatre in Downtown Bridgeport is holding open call auditions for their April production of Godspell; Director: Maggie Pangrazio; Producer: One & Only Entertainment; Book by John Michael Tebelak; Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz; Conceived and Originally Directed by John Michael Tebelak; Based on The Gospel According to St. Matthew.

When:  Open call auditions will take place on Sunday, March 2nd from 4pm to 7pm and Monday, March 3rd from 6pm to 9pm.  Actors will audition in order of arrival.

Where:  All auditions will take place at The Bijou Arts Center, 277 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604.  The Bijou Arts Center is located on the second floor upon entering the glass door next to The Bijou Theatre Box Office.  Ascend the stairs directly opposite the glass door.  Signs will be posted.

What to prepare:  All actors should bring a current headshot (or recent photo) and 1 page acting resume or list of theater/performing experience.  Please prepare a short selection (no longer than 1 minute) of a song in the style of the show.  Singing from the show is ok.  Bring sheet music in the correct key—a capella singing is discouraged.

Callbacks:  Callbacks, if needed, will take place on Wednesday, March 5th, beginning at 7pm.

REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE INFO:   General rehearsal schedule ofGodspell is: Mondays-Thursdays from 6-10pm and some Sundays between 3-7pm.  Rehearsals begin on or around March 16th.  The show runs at The Bijou Theatre in Downtown Bridgeport, April 11-19.

Diverse, ensemble show.  Flexible casting and all roles featured.  Each actor will bring his or her own personality traits to the character,  All roles open.  Non-Equity, no pay.  All types and ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
