Human Services Council - SoNo Stroll, Weds., June 11, 2014

On Wednesday, June 11, The Human Services Council’s Sixth Annual SoNo Stroll Benefit will be a little bit country and a whole lot of fun.

This year’s cocktail reception takes place at the hottest newcomer to the SoNo restaurant scene—Johnny Utah’s South Norwalk, 80 Washington St.

The Human Services Council is excited to add some western flair, including down-home cooking, line dancing, and—yes—mechanical bull riding to their premiere fundraising event that will help them continue to empower, educate, and safeguard the people in the five-town area it serves.

The SoNo Stroll festivities will kick off at 5:30 pm at Johnny Utah’s, with good friends, delicious appetizers and libations, plus the chance to corral some amazing live and silent auction items.

This year’s selections include: Katy Perry tickets, a week-long stay on a private island on the St. Lawrence River, round trip travel to Nantucket or Cape Cod on a private jet, lodging opportunities in Las Vegas, Vermont, Orlando, and Nantucket, golf foursomes, sports collectibles, summer camp opportunities, a Kindle Fire, a $2,500 Porch & Patio gift certificate, and much more.

After the cocktail reception, guests will enjoy a three-course dinner from a signature menu at one of the many participating SoNo restaurants. This year’s civic-minded establishments include: Barcelona Restaurant & Wine Bar, The Brew House, Burger Bar & Bistro, Coromandel, Donovan’s, Estia, The Ginger Man, Harbor Lights, Kazu, Match, O’Neill’s Pub & Restaurant, Pasta Nostra, The Spread, and Strada 18.  Tickets - $150 per person.

Proceeds raised from the SoNo Stroll will support the Human Services Council and its five programs.

The impact of this 70-year old nonprofit organization on the lives of local children and families is impressive. In 2013 alone, the Human Services Council provided direct services to more than 1,400 people, and positively touched the lives of over 8,000 individuals in the towns of New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport, Wilton, and Weston.

The Human Services Council is home to: Children’s Connection, the Norwalk Mentor Program, the Dr. Robert E. Appleby School Based Health Centers, the Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition, and 40 South Main Street Housing.

The presenting sponsor of the SoNo Stroll is Purdue Pharma, and the Human Services Council is honored to have the support of the following corporate sponsors: FactSet, First County Bank, General Growth Partners, Merritt 7/Marcus Partners, Baywater Properties, Cushman & Wakefield, CBRE, James P. Murphy & Associates, M&T Bank, Noah Bank, Bigelow Tea, EFA Partners, GE Capital, HomeServe USA, Sequel International, Colliers International, Hoyt-Cognetta Family Funeral Services, and Webster Bank.
