Center for Discovery, a national leader in eating disorder treatment, announced plans today to open its newest eating disorder intensive outpatient treatment facility in Greenwich, Connecticut. The facility will provide treatment for adults and adolescents diagnosed with issues related to anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. The new site, which is JCAHO accredited (Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals Organization), opens on June 15th and is currently accepting clients.
“Center For Discovery has been treating eating disorders since 1997 and we are excited to bring our expertise to the Westchester and lower Fairfield County community," said Mark Hobbins, President and Chief Operating Officer of Center For Discovery. “Research has proven that successful long-term recovery is much more likely to occur when treatment is available in close proximity to a child’s family which facilitates family participation in the child’s treatment and recovery."
Programming at Center For Discovery in Greenwich will consist of a comprehensive range of services, including individual therapy, group therapy, working with a registered dietitian and family therapy. Clients of our intensive outpatient program require more support than can be provided on an outpatient basis, but are not in a position to need a higher level of structure and supervision. Intensive outpatient treatment is also a good step down from residential treatment or a partial hospitalization program, providing monitoring and support as clients transition back to their daily lives.
