The Conservative Synagogue Takes a Bite Out of Hunger

THE CONSERVATIVE SYNAGOGUE TAKES A BITE OUT OF HUNGER

Westport, Connecticut, April 22, 2013—On Sunday, April 7, 2013, members of The Conservative Synagogue (TCS) completed a successful “Mitzvah Day” by helping those who are hungry in our community including Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport. From preschoolers to adults, Synagogue members volunteered their time or donated items to help those in need of food.

 The term “Mitzvah” literally is a commandment of Jewish law and it is a word used to refer to the 613 commandments given in the Torah. It is more generally referred to as a worthy deed or an act of human kindness.
