The Watermark at 3030 Park to Host Bi-Monthly Support Group for Caregivers

In April, The Watermark at 3030 Park will host two meetings of CARES, a support group designed for people who are being cared for, or who are providing care for a loved one. The meetings will be held on Monday, April 14 and Monday, April 28, at 11:00 a.m. at the senior living community, located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport-Fairfield town line.

CARES (which stands for Confidentiality, Acceptance, Respectful, Encouragement and Support) will be led by Anne Denicola, a social worker from VITAS Innovative Hospice Care in Stratford. General topics of discussion include coping with caregiver stress, financial challenges, and working to find balance in the midst a challenging and stressful situation.

“With more and more people seeking support as they take on a caregiving role, we want them to know that The Watermark is a trusted, safe and comfortable environment to share their experiences,” said Edward Roman, Executive Director of The Watermark.  “CARES meetings offer the opportunity for people to ask questions, learn new information, and to develop strategies to cope with the everyday challenges associated with being a caregiver.”
