On Thursday, November 14, The Watermark at 3030 Park will host its monthly Parkinson’s Support Group meeting, along with its weekly Parkinson’s Fitness Class. The support group will be held at 10:00 a.m., and the fitness class at 1:00 p.m. at the retirement community located at 3030 Park Avenue on the Bridgeport-Fairfield town line.
The guest speaker for November will be Michael P. De Vivo, a Certified Financial Planner and financial services representative at MetLife Resources. He will discuss the importance of financial planning as it relates to seniors.
“It can sometimes be difficult to find the time to get finances in order, especially when living with or caring for someone with Parkinson’s disease,” said Marlane Argianas, Resident Services Coordinator at The Watermark at 3030 Park. “Mr. De Vivo is an expert who helps people achieve financial stability and security in their later years, and we know he will provide valuable advice that will enable our guests to plan better for the future.”
De Vivo has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years, with expertise in 401(k) plans as well as life and long-term care insurance. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and was recognized in 2010 with the Five Star Wealth Manager Award for overall satisfaction.
The Parkinson’s Fitness Class is designed specifically for those who have Parkinson’s disease. The class, which meets every Thursday, consists of a warm-up, balance and strengthening exercises, and a cool down/stretch period. The class is be led by Cindy McGuire, Fitness Director at The Watermark and certified group exercise instructor with over 25 years of experience working with seniors.
