Westport philanthropist Joel Smilow's Boys & Girls Clubhouse Receives National Environmental Award

Named for Westport philanthropist Joel Smilow, the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse in Bridgeport’s west end has been honored as a “LEED platinum” building, the highest award offered by the U.S. Green Building Council. The Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse is the first Boys & Girls Club to receive this prestigious award, which recognizes Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
