The Westport Woman’s Club Scholarship Committee awarded a total of $27,500 in scholarships to (7) Staples High School seniors and (1) Adult Woman’s scholarship at their May 23, 2014 Scholarship Awards Ceremony.The scholarship awards are based on financial need and scholastic ability (no lower than 3.0 academic GPA).This year’s scholarship recipients included Emma Mikesh (Emily B. Fuller Scholarship) – University of Mississippi; Claudine Brantley  (Ina Bradley Scholarship) – Parsons: New School of Design; Thomas Ward (Lea Ruegg Scholarship) – University of New Hampshire; Cara McNiff (Ulla & Karl Folke Eweson Scholarship)-Elon University; Katelyn Farnen(WWC “Most Active Member” Wendy McKeon Scholarship)-Penn State; Alexander Mapley (Westport Woman’s Club Scholarship)-McGill University; Steven Nelson (Westport Woman’s Club Scholarship) Norwalk Community College.Westport Woman’s Club awarded an Adult Woman’s Scholarship to Carina Amos who is attending St. Vincent’s College.The Westport Woman’s Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of charitable, cultural, educational and public health services. In addition to supporting numerous community services, the Club offers a great number of social activities for its members and for the community at large.
