Become Part of 3,000-Mile 'One Run for Boston'

The cross-country relay will pass through Westport on Saturday, June 29. There is still time to sign up for the Westport to Bridgeport leg.

Connecticut residents can join the show of solidarity by runners from across the United States this weekend, when the One Run Boston relay hits the state.

One Run Boston began on June 7 in Los Angeles. Runners signed up to carry a baton through various "stages" of the 3,000-mile cross-country relay. The run will end at the Boston Marathon finish line on Sunday, June 30.

The baton made it to Ohio Monday. So far One Run Boston has raised more than $64,000 to benefit those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

Langlais was looking for a way to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings when she learned about One Run Boston.

"I was thrilled to find that the coast-to-coast route passed through Fairfield," Langlais said.

She is donating her entry fee to support the victims of the bombings. Langlais looks forward to celebrating "the camaraderie of runners across the USA."

"It's amazing to think that the baton, appropriately named 'Miles,' is being carried by runners across the USA over 3,000 miles and will arrive at the Boston Marathon finish line on the 30th."
