Three Westport Churches will conduct an open service of worship on Compo Beach beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday morning, April 8. The traditional sunrise service will begin with a bonfire on the beach near the cannons. Coordinated by The Congregational Church of Green's Farms, the service will also be led by the clergy of the United Methodist Church and the Saugatuck Congregational Church. Sunrise is expected to come during the service at 6:25 a.m. If it is raining, the sun will still come up, but the service will be conducted in the open-air - but covered - pavilion.
