Five Things, June 11: Animal Hall Volunteer Orientation

Here are five things to know about Westport (and nearby) for Tuesday, June 11:

1. The weather. There's a chance of showers and/or thunderstorms all day, with temperatures forecast to reach a high near 81 degrees.

2. Human Services Commission. The commission meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Town Hall. The Westport Green Task Force's Pippa Bell Adler is a special guest. Here's an agenda.

3. Historic District Commission. The Historic District Commission meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday and will discuss, among other things, the demolition of a 19th century wooden frame structure at 561 Post Road East. Click here for an agenda.

4. Animal Hall volunteer orientation. Love animals? Volunteer at EarthPlace's Animal Hall, where you can work with over 30 live animals. You must attend either Tuesday's or Wednesday's orientation sessions. Click here for details.
