Westport Boy Scouts Plan Christmas Tree Removal

Need to get rid of your Christmas tree as the holiday season winds down? Boy Scout Troop 39 of Westport has you covered!

Just place your Christmas tree in your front yard or driveway and on Saturday, Jan. 11 the troop will collect and dispose of your tree.

The collection program was created by Scout parent Eric Montgomery in 2011, organizing the volunteers, equipment, town clearances, scheduled routes, and public awareness. Since then the annual event is made possible by the time and goodwill of many scouts, parents, and local volunteers working together.
