An Afternoon of Welsh Music

On Sunday, November 21 at 2:00 pm, Westport Library will host the folk music duet from Wales, Gwynfyd (Welsh for "bliss" or "paradise").

Featuring the singing and musicianship of Pamela Wyn Shannon and Eifion Wyn Williams, Gwynford will perform traditional and original songs celebrating Welsh folklore, history, and nature, sung both in Welsh and English. Free and open to the public, the program will take place in the Library's McManus Room.

A professional musician for more than 15 years, Shannon has shared the stage with such legendary musicians as Billy Bragg, Martin Simpson, June Tabor, and Roger McGuinn. Williams grew up speaking Welsh and learning traditional songs in school, and currently works with environmental groups in Wales.
