ART ABOUT TOWN brings hundreds of original works of art to 70 shops and restaurants, turning the downtown Westport shopping district into one continuous gallery for strolling, appreciating, and purchasing quality art.
ART ABOUT TOWN begins with a festive Opening Night Street Party on Thursday May 24th from 5:30 pm -8:30 pm. That night, Main Street will be traffic free and the length of Main – and beyond – will be filled with art, entertainment, al fresco dining, and fun for the whole family. Street performers will delight, live music will fill the air, and visitors will have the opportunity to see artists in action as they demonstrate their talent, including two graffiti artists who will transform a classic car donated by Dragone Classic Motorcars. Participating businesses will stay open late and have some surprises in store as well. All art is juried, for sale, and will remain in stores through Sunday June 17th.
The Westport Arts Center is the Community Art Sponsor of ART ABOUT TOWN and will have professionals at the event with exciting, hands-on art activities for kids of all ages.
