Arts Education Workshop at Library

If you work with children and want to introduce them to art or you've thought about becoming an ArtSmart volunteer in the schools, you may think you need a degree in art history to do this.

But all you really need is to let the children's librarians at Westport Public Library show you the myriad resources available for presenting art to kids using age-appropriate materials from the Library's collection.

On Wednesday, October 6, at 9:30 am in the Library's McManus Room, the Children's Library will join forces with ArtSmart (a PTA-run program designed to stimulate appreciation for art in grades K-5 in the Westport Public Schools) to host an Arts Education Workshop for any interested adult in the Library's McManus Room.

Children's librarians Deborah White and Candace Herbst will talk about the wide array of books and resources available at the Library to help develop effective art presentations for kids. To register for the free workshop, beginning September 1, go to the Library's web site westportlibrary.org.
