Author Reggie Nadelson Discusses Her Latest Whodunnit

Author Reggie Nadelson's Russian-born NYPD Artie Cohen returns in the ninth mystery in her popular series, Blood Count, set in Harlem just after Barack Obama's 2008 election. Late one night Cohen gets a call from his ex-girlfriend, Lily, who has been living in Harlem's distinctive Louis Armstrong Apartments while working on the Obama campaign. Her Russian neighbor has died, and Lily fears she's at fault. Then over the weekend several other people at the Armstrong die, and Cohen has his hands full trying to solve the murders—and win back Lily.

On Wednesday, November 17 at 7:30 pm at Westport Library, Nadelson will talk about her new book, which is part-whodunit, part-love story, and also a tale about New York, race, real estate, money, and music. Free and open to the public, the talk will take place in the Library's McManus Room, and books will be available for purchase and signing afterward.

A journalist and documentary filmmaker, Nadelson is the author of eight previous Artie Cohen novels: Londongrad, Fresh Kills, Red Hook, Disturbed Earth, Red Hot Blues, Hot Poppies, Bloody London, and Sex Dolls. Comrade Rockstar, her biography of Dean Reed, the American emigré who became the biggest rock star in the Soviet Union, is under option to Tom Hanks. She lives in Manhattan.
