Westport's Castles in the Sand 2012

This year’s Castles in the Sand, the only organized sand-castle-building-event of the year in Westport, will be held Saturday, May 12 at Compo Beach. Castle “construction” begins at 12 noon and builders can complete their creations any time before the judging begins at 3:30 pm. An ample array of prizes will be awarded at 4 pm.

Proceeds of the event go to support the mission of Homes with Hope, Inc., Westport’s 28-year-old organization which runs the Gillespie Center homeless shelter in downtown Westport, as well as thirty units of permanent supportive housing in Westport and Norwalk. The event is generously sponsored by a number of local businesses and individuals.
