Westport to Hold Forth Annual Chowdafest Competition

Come be a judge and vote for your favorite soup and chowders at the 4th Annual Chowdafest competition.  Slurp down decadent samples from 24 restaurants compete in three different categories: Classic New England Clam Chowder, Creative Chowder and Soup/Bisque.  Entry fees are $6 adults and $2 kids with proceeds benefiting the CT Food Bank.  Conducted by the Unitarian Church in Westport, this event is uniquely football themed as it is held annually the day before the SOUPer Bowl.  Our Kids Cove area is sponsored by Stop & Shop with free chef hats to decorate, stickers and fun temporary tattoos. Come meet our new mascot: Chef Quahog (he's a SOUPer hero). Hear the sounds of the Sacred Heart Marching band and listen to WEBE 108 as they broadcast live from the event. New this year is the "Put up or clam up" challenge where Chowdafest has invited the reigning champions from the Newport, Mystic and LBI annual competitions.  We'll find out how our Fairfield County chefs match up to others!  Attendance is expected to be high again so come early or come late where those arriving after 3:00 will be entered into a special raffle.
