Perfect for the whole family, "Fiddler on the Roof: Junior Edition" is presented as a special edition of one of Broadway's great masterpieces. The universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness. In the little village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Songs include "Tradition," "Matchmaker," "If I Were a Rich Man," "Sunrise, Sunset" and "Far from the Home I Love." With Music by Jerry Bock, Book by Joseph Stein, Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, Based on Sholem Aleichem's stories by special permission of Arnold Perl, this classic American musical made its Broadway debut in 1964 and remains one of the longest-running shows of all time. Winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, score, book, direction and choreography, the show spawned four Broadway revivals, a successful 1971 film adaptation and has enjoyed enduring international popularity.
