Film "Two Angry Moms"

Two area moms, Jennifer Boyd and Erika Miller, are hosting a screening of the award-winning documentary about school food Two Angry Moms.

The producer of the film, Amy Kalafa, will be one of four panelists attending the showing to answer questions from the audience. She'll be joined by "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution" consultant John Turenne, local holistic pediatrician Lori Storch-Smith and ecological wellness consultant Jennifer Boyd.

Jennifer and Erika hope to engage the community in a dialogue about best food practices for our communities' children in light of startling CDC statistics indicating that this generation of young Americans will be the first not to live as long as their parents; a chilling thought directly related to our poor food practices as a society.

With one of every three children born after the year 2000 predicted to contract Type 2 diabetes in their lifetime (which is considered preventable by diet and exercise), Erika and Jennifer agree it's urgent the case made for improving the food message in schools and homes.

Several health food vendors will be providing samples at the event.
