History You Can Own
The walls of Rockwell Westport have been recently renewed by treasures of yesteryear in "History You Can Own". The exhibit of more than seventy items offers a rare glimpse into the past and a unique opportunity to own a piece of history. It is an opportunity to stand before the same documents once signed by George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and Robert E. Lee, to name a few. Famous artifacts such as the bust of Abraham Lincoln that Stamford native Gutzon Borglum carried with him and used as a model while sculpting on Mt. Rushmore, a kerchief used by Benjamin Franklin, a golf hat worn by Bill Clinton and a pen set owned by John F. Kennedy, are also on display at the Gallery.
