Nylen Gallery of Westport is kicking off the holiday season with an artists' reception Dec. 3 featuring whimsical shadow boxes, hand crafted jewelry, table-top Christmas trees, handmade scarves, decorative mirrors, porcelain pottery and other works by local artists.
During the reception, which takes place 5-7 p.m., participating artists and craftsmen will be on hand to discuss their work with patrons. The gallery is featuring the talent of Folk Artist Karen Silver Bloom, Jewelry makers JR Lamartine of Westport, Ellen Schiffman of Weston and Pamela Adelstein of Fairfield; potters Judy Katz and Karen Ford of Westport; Origami Artist Sophie Acheson of Westport and Mauricio Higuera, from Norwalk, who will display his pen-and-ink drawings.
