New Play Reading Series

Slant of Light Theater Company’s New Play Reading Series will continue this month with two one-acts, The Virtual Gates of Heaven by David Garlock AND The Anthology by Susan Cinoman.

In order to continue holding our New Play Reading Series at the wonderful Toquet Hall in Westport, beginning January 2011, Slant of Light must now charge a $5 admission to this series.
All teens with a student ID will be admitted for free.

In the one-act dream play “Virtual Gates of Heaven,” a Bible-thumping televangelist dies and arrives at the entrance to Heaven, only to discover that none of his expectations about the after-life are to be fulfilled. Technological advances, corporate mergers, downsizing and globalization persist beyond the grave. All of his preconceptions about eternal bliss are upended, as the purgatorial processing of his bedraggled soul is undertaken by Heaven’s gatekeeper, the Archangel Gabriella.
Slant of Light’s monthly readings are open to the public, striving to create a bridge between the community and artistic process. Each reading will be followed by a talkback with the author, director, and actors. Wednesday evening’s reading will take place at Toquet Hall Teen Center, 58 Post Road East, Westport, CT.
