"The Seafarer"

Westport Community Theatre continues its hit season with Conor McPherson's hilarious and chilling play "The Seafarer," directed by Ruth Anne Baumgartner, featuring Damien Langan (courtesy of Actors Equity), Alexander Kulcsar, Will Jeffries, Rob Pawlikowski and David Hartigan – and it is definitely "not your average card game with the devil..."

It's Christmas Eve in Dublin, Ireland... two aging bachelor brothers – one blind, one in chaos – a game of poker – the arrival of a mysterious stranger who raises the "stakes" – and one of the most entertaining evenings of theatre unfolds at a breathtaking pace that has audiences guessing until the end. The cast is fantastic and the acting is superb – we guarantee these are five of the best performances on any Connecticut stage in 2011. The story is mesmerizing and profound, and you are certain to be thinking about it long after the play over.

“The Seaferer” runs November 25 – December 11, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 2:00 pm, and Thursday, December 1 at 8:00 pm. Westport Community Theatre is located at Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue in Westport.
