Through an Impressionist's Eyes

Drawing from the majestic New York City skyline, Patrick Antonelle imbues the powerful skyscrapers of a modern city with nature’s dressing of winter’s snow and spring’s blossoms. Antonelle beautifully captures the intricacies of each season and the poignant nostalgic moments we associate with them. His canvases are brought to life by commingling nature, architecture and memories. Patrick rolls back the clock and captures a time in Manhattan when horses and buggies, vintage cars and top hats were the fashion. The result is beautiful harmony with precision and a flair for romanticism. He paints a picture in which we can escape; we can fantasize about a time when the main thoroughfare of New York City was intimate and charming. With every brush stroke, he has managed to eliminate any suggestion of city danger and stress, and has filled the atmosphere with optimism and joy. Antonelle is easily compared to Renoir and Monet.

An alumnus of the School of Visual Arts, the Brooklyn Museum and the Art Students League, it has been mostly self-education and confidence that has guided him from novice to master of his profession. In essence, he attributes “life” and “nature” as his best teachers.

Mr. Antonelle has exhibited nationwide, and noted collectors of his work are; Lisa Minelli, the late Frank Sinatra, Leonard Bernstein, Shirley Bassey, Mayor Edward Koch, Mayor Rudolf Giuliani, Ivana Trump, Celeste Holm, Agnes DeMille, Regis Philbin, Michael Feinstein, Michele March of CBS and many more luminaries. His Corporate collectors include; Citicorp,Panasonic Japan, Apple computers, The Meredith Corporation, Better Homes and Gardens, New York Hospital for Special Surgery, Delta Airlines-JFK Airport, the New York Stock Exchange, Moran Stanley, Dean Witter, Patek Phillip-Geneve Switzerland, Deutche Bank and others worldwide.
