'WAC This Way' Tours Philip Johnson Glass House

As part of it's WAC This Way fall tour series, offers two 90-minute guided tour of the renowned Philip Johnson Glass House in New Canaan beginning at 11 a.m. and noon Monday, Sept. 20. This historic property built in 1949 was designed by architect Philip Johnson and is an example of one of the earliest uses of industrial materials like glass and steel in home design.

Johnson lived at this weekend retreat for 58 years and his longtime companion, David Whitney, helped design the landscaping and curate the art collection. The tour will include access to da Monsta Visitor Center, interiors of the Glass House and the painting and sculpture galleries.

Two tours will also be held at the same times Monday, Oct. 25.

Each WAC This Way tour costs $75 per person, $60 for WAC members. A package of three tours is available for $200, $175 for WAC members.
