Westport Historical Society presents "Lunch with Lucy, Ethel and Rod"

If you loved Lucy, you should check out the lunchtime entertainment created for the Westport Historical Society to complement its “Next Stop: Westport!” exhibit. The program, consisting of short script readings from “I Love Lucy” and “The Twilight Zone,” will be served up Wednesday, March 28, at noon along with a light lunch.
The selections will be played by actress Melody James, a Westport native and resident, and Lois Leftwich of Fairfield. You will recognize both from their stage and television work.
“Next Stop: Westport!” is the society’s tribute to 1950s television and films created by Westporters and set in Westport. The final year of “I Love Lucy” took place in Westport and was co-written by former Westport resident Bob Weiskopf. “Twilight Zone” creator Rod Serling lived in Westport for several years during the 50s and one of the series' typically eerie episodes featured a commuter on a train bound for Westport. The Next Stop exhibit is located in the Betty R. & Ralph Sheffer Gallery at WHS headquarters, 25 Avery Place across from Town Hall.
The March 28 program was put together by Carole Schweid of Westport, artistic director of  “Play With Your Food.” The latter presents one-act plays over lunch at locations in Westport, Fairfield and Greenwich.
