Westport Youth Film Festival

The second day of the 7th annual Westport Youth Film Festival (WYFF) kicks off on May 8th at 10am with the following film programs:

65 Student films from all over the world will be shown in simultaneous 1 hour blocks at both Toquet Hall and Town Hall until 4pm. The blocks are all themed around different topics, and the schedule is listed below:

TOQUET HALL 
10am-11am: Mr. Smith Goes to Westport: Politics and Current Events 
11am-12pm: City Lights: Urban Issues and Technology
12pm-1pm: The Music Man: Music and its Impact
1pm-2pm: Good Will Hunting: Homelessness, Poverty, and Social Justice
2pm-3pm: Tough Love: The Trials and Tribulations of Romance
3pm-4pm: Funny Girl: Comedy and the Best of WYFF 2010


TOWN HALL
10am-11am: The Breakfast Club: Self Discovery and Student Issues 
11am-12pm: Tough Love: The Trials and Tribulations of Romance
12pm-1pm: It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World: Foreign Themed Films
1pm-2pm: Mr. Smith Goes to Westport: Politics and Current Events
2pm-3pm: Funny Girl: Comedy and the Best of WYFF 2010
3pm-4pm: The Music Man: Music and its Impact

But wait, there's more!

4-5: Alex Fjellberg Swerdlowe will premiere his award winning film "The Complex". After the movie, he'll have a panel and Q&A session about the making of the movie. TOQUET HALL.

4-5: Bridge Academy and Tribeca Films being shown at TOWN HALL.

5-6: WYFF founder Chris Casey will premiere his web series/movie "The Roy Orbison Project" and have a panel discussion/roundtable at the end about what its like to be a filmmaker in film school, and the impact that WYFF has had on is career. With him will be his 2 co-directors, and some WYFF alumni who were involved with the project. TOQUET HALL.

6-7: The icing on the cake...the Awards Ceremony! 11 Awards will be given to 9 lucky filmmakers and 2 influential adults who've helped make WYFF what it is today. TOQUET HALL.

Throughout the day, there will be free popcorn at Oscars Deli and Steaz beverages available on the street, as well as live music in front of Vineyard Vines.  Music by the Interstellar Elevators and Robert Mathis.

WYFF is the only film festival in the world run for high school students, by high school students.
