Melissa Joan Hart, a Westport resident and star of television, film, and theater, will be featured in the romantic comedy “Any Wednesday,” a benefit playreading to support Westport Country Playhouse’s Script in Hand series, on one-night-only, Monday, July 29 at 7 p.m.
Tickets to the benefit playreading are $100, $50, and $25. Tickets include the playreading and post-performance “Meet the Cast” reception. The director is Anne Keefe, Playhouse artistic advisor.
“One of my inspirations for playreading titles comes from perusing the long list of past plays at the Playhouse. I was glancing through the ‘A’s’ one day while a copy of Westport Magazine was sitting on my desk. My eye caught ‘Any Wednesday.’ I looked over and saw a picture of Melissa Joan Hart on the cover of the magazine and a plan took shape,” Keefe said.
Hart will play the role of Ellen, the disarmingly innocent mistress of a wealthy Manhattan businessman and philanderer, who visits his paramour in the executive suite every week on Wednesdays. A Broadway smash hit, the comedy is written by Muriel Resnik.
