Westport Artist Featured in Bridgeport

A Westport artist will showcase her latest work, "Leveling Off," at the ArtPlace Gallery at The Watermark at 3030 Park Wednesday.

Westport-based artist Mary Elizabeth Peterson will have her work featured at the ArtPlace Gallery at The Watermark at 3030 Park in Bridgeport from September 7 to October 26. A reception will be held at the gallery on Sept. 14 at 2:00 p.m., at which time Peterson will present her work, engage guests in discussion and answer questions.  The title of her upcoming exhibit is “Leveling Off.”

Peterson is an American abstract artist whose work has appeared in galleries throughout the Northeast, including the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan, and ArtPlace Gallery in Fairfield.  Her mixed-media painting style has been described as “vibrant, playful and semi-abstract.”  Peterson studied at the University of Connecticut and Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington D.C.

“For my exhibit, I will address a variety of concepts through a wide range of mediums,” said Peterson.  “I look forward to sharing my multimedia work with residents and guests of The Watermark at 3030 Park.”

ArtPlace’s main gallery is located at 11 Unquowa Road in downtown Fairfield.  The collaboration between the retirement community and this non-profit, cooperative art gallery aims to provide both residents and guests of The Watermark at 3030 Park with the opportunity to experience the work of fine artists such as Mary Elizabeth Peterson.

ArtPlace Gallery @ The Watermark is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information, please call The Watermark at 3030 Park at 203-374-5611.
