According to a report in WestportNow.com, Director Sandra Lefkowitz on Monday signed a letter of intent to lease space behind to construct a small independent movie theater serving the community. It is a major development in the group's .
Providing the plan for the new, 6,500-square-foot theater , it will be the first time since 1999 that Westport has had a movie theater. That was the year that Loew’s Theatres closed the facility, due to competition from nearby multi-screen theaters in Fairfield and Norwalk.
