‘Terrain’ Opens Garden Center, Café in Westport

561 Post Road East is going green as the property undergoes a complete facelift before the new gardening and home décor store opens Friday morning.

Some Westporters may not even recognize the site of the former Curran Cadillac dealership when they stroll in to ‘Terrain’ for their first time.

The parking lot is beautifully landscaped while the plants and wood fence along the new Post Road sidewalk resemble a coastal setting. Upon entering the store you’ll be greeted with the scent of fresh hydrangeas as well as many other plants.

The Urban Outfitters Inc. owned store, which will appeal to all garden and nature lovers, will feature pottery, decor, books, cooking utensils, indoor and outdoor furniture, garden supplies and a wide range of plants. Some people may spend more time at ‘Terrain’ than they had planned, though, as the store will also feature a ‘garden café’ that will serve fresh, ‘green’ dishes.

Terrain General Manager Matt Horn was on site Wednesday helping get the store organized for the Friday morning opening.

“It’s an amazing place to be,” Horn said of the town of Westport. “We felt a need here, and we are trying to fill that void.”

This will be Terrain’s second store, behind their premier store in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.  Urban Outfitters Inc. operates several retail chains, including Westport’s  and , .

Terrain is located next to grocery store and across the street from and .

Claudia, You will not be let down! When I visited Terrain I did not want to leave. The plant selection is fantastic and the atmosphere is welcoming! One really colorful cactus compilation caught my eye! I'll be back!

It's nice to hear that by going green, Terrain is seeing a new lease of life, and enjoying a surge in popularity. This is definitely an indirect effect of moving towards a more green conscious design. It feels like a garden, going in there. - http://www.heritagegardens.co.uk
