Stacked against 46 opponents, many of whom are professional poker players, Bridgewater Associates CEO Greg Jensen took home sixth place in the $100,000 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Super High Roller tournament and donated his entire $286,200 cash prize to the victims of the school shooting in Newtown, according to PokerStars.com.
Jensen, an amateur poker player who played for fun when he was younger, found his way into the Main Event after one of his colleagues gifted him the $100,000 entrance as a birthday present, according to Bluff.com.
Jensen started at Bridgewater (ranked the best-performing and largest hedge fund manager in the world in both 2010 and 2011) as an intern while at Dartmouth. He is now co-CEO and co-CIO, alongside founder Ray Dalio.
