As per a report in The Hour of Norwalk, the spa's floating tanks are filled with warm water and about 950 pounds of Epsom salt — allowing customers to float effortlessly and completely relax. The specialized treatment is said to slow brain waves, heal physical pain and enhance relaxation by almost completely blocking out external stimuli, according to the report.

"Our minds are processing so much," iFloat co-owner David Conneely said in The Hour report. "In here, it is reduced or eliminated... energy can be focused within on the body."

The specialized "sensory deprivation" tanks at iFloat are reportedly designed to "decrease all outside stimulations, including gravity." For the user, the experience is said to provide a "sensation of being suspended in space," according to the report.
