Westport Resources, a leading independent investment firm serving individuals, families, municipalities and institutions around the world, is pleased to announce that its founder and CEO, John Adams Vaccaro, CFP®, CLU®, has been named one of Barron’s “Top 100 Financial Advisors in America” for 2014. Published by Dow Jones & Company, Barron’s is a top weekly financial newspaper in the U.S.
This is the first time that Vaccaro (ranked 91st) has received this recognition. It differs from the recent (February 2014) ranking that Barron’s conducted of the “Top 1,200 Financial Advisors in America” in which the leading advisors in each of the 50 states were highlighted (Vaccaro ranked 7th for Connecticut); this ranking more demandingly disregards location. Further, Vaccaro is one of only eight independent financial advisors recognized in this ranking; the remaining are advisors representing large securities brokerage firms and banks.
“To be ranked within this elite group of advisors is a very special honor,” Vaccaro said. “I commend my Westport Resources team for its hard work and commitment to excellence. I also thank our clients for their loyalty and support.”
Barron’s rankings are based on the following criteria: assets managed, revenue generated for the advisors’ firms, and the quality of advisors’ practices.
Note: Barron’s also, annually in August, reports a ranking of the “Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors in America.” Vaccaro has been included in this ranking for the last five consecutive years.
