Christopher Shays and Anita McBride at the Westport Library
Former U.S. Congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Christopher Shays and former Chief of Staff to Laura Bush, Anita McBride, will host an informal forum at the Westport Public Library on August 2.
Former Congressman Christopher Shays, Republican candidate for United States Senate, will host an informal forum at the Westport Public Library with special guest Anita McBride on Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
McBride was assistant to President George W. Bush and chief of staff to First Lady Laura Bush from 2005 to 2009, during which time she advised Mrs. Bush on her platform of domestic and international initiatives.
Mrs. McBride is a Bridgeport native and has been active in politics since her work on Ronald Reagan's 1980 campaign in Hartford. She is now the Executive-in-Residence in the School of Public Affairs at American University. The event is open to the public.
