- Dozens of Westport boat owners removed their boats from Longshore and Compo marinas Thursday evening as they expect the worst from Irene and hope for the best.
- Party band extraordinaire, "Celebration" features seven musicians including a three-piece horn section, together with a set list and road show designed to rock your socks off. They will perform at from 8 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
- Rockwell Art Gallery in Westport brings the geometric figurative paintings of Fernande Lipton together with a Westport favorite, painter Claudia Mengel in TRANS-FIGURATION, an event that runs through Oct. 14. A reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the art gallery.
