Happy 2nd Birthday Westport Patch

Westport Patch turned two years old this month and continues to serve as a forum for residents to speak their minds and share information.

Westport Patch launched with a bang on Election Day in 2009 when broke the before his own news publication, WestportNow, had the story.

Since then, Patch has grown dramatically and resides in about 850 towns and communities across 22 states. Westport Patch was Patch’s fifteenth site to be launched, and fifth site in Connecticut behind Darien, New Canaan, Wilton and Ridgefield.

When there were discussions of  in January 2010, Liz was on it. When Westport suffered extreme damage from a , Patch was there every step of the way.

Mitchell had already set the tone for Westport Patch when  in August 2010. Karge spoke to several media experts in March 2011 concerning as a first selectman and a publisher of a news outlet in town. He followed up with a story about the that follows.

Later that month, Karge featured a about the bullying she endures. The story was a hot topic and drew nearly 100 comments.

Westport is a town with strong values that its residents care deeply about.
