Here Today: Theory

Contemporary women's clothing company opens retail store on Main Street.

sharply tailored jackets and ultra-flattering pants for women have been topping fashion editor’s lists of must have items since the brand’s launch in 1997.  Since then, they have expanded the line beyond wear to work basics to include knits, blouses, outerwear and a much publicized line by Belgian fashion darling Oliver Theyskens who has been hired as the brand’s artistic director.  The Theory store at 87 Main Street officially opened in mid-August, only to close after suffering significant damage during Hurricane Irene.  The boutique re-opened in October and according to manager Jennifer McGrath, they have been flooded with business. “Everyone has been so receptive!  They’re happy that they don’t have to go to Greenwich or White Plains any longer,” explains McGrath referring to Theory’s other two local stand alone retail stores.
