In Platforms and Tye Dye Westport Celebrates Longshore
The 50th anniversary committee put on their dancing shoes Thursday night.
In May 1960, Westport made perhaps the most significant land acquisition in its history – Longshore Club Park. This year, the town celebrates 50 years enjoying Westport's crown jewel of recreation.
On Thursday night, many joined in a 50th anniversary bash at the Inn at Longshore, for a rock'n'roll dance party with music from the era of Motown, Beatles, 'Stones and the rest of the British Invasion.
Party attendees dressed in their favorite '60s garb and danced to Cracked Ice, a happenin' band specializing in playing the great sounds of this era.
