From customer service to sea rescues, the Westport Police Department, with technology and constant training, is constantly adapting to new challenges.
When the economy declines, business goes up for the Westport Police Department. There has already been some this, and the police force is constantly trying to improve, whether its through new equipment, offering online police reports and other tactics.
To name just a few of their tasks, the department's work entails solving crimes, investigating vehicle accidents and even checking on the occasional seal. The department also consists of Emergency Medical Servies and Animal Control, so there's always work to be done.
As the department's mission states, "We take on the responsibility of making our community safe for all those that live, work or pass through here. We also strive to make our roads safe for motorists and pedestrians alike. It is our responsibility to work with other agencies and with the public we serve and treat everyone with respect and dignity."Â
