Snow on Saturday?

The latest report from Wesport Weather Whiz Jacob Meisel.

Are you hoping to build a snowman or go sledding this weekend? You just might get the chance.

Here's your local forecast from Westport Weather Whiz Jacob Meisel:

There is a very confusing snow forecast for tomorrow.  The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is calling for half an inch, Accuweather is calling for an inch, and the Weather Channel is calling for snow amounts between one and three inches.

Either way, a strong low pressure system is moving up the East Coast, and we are on the cold northeast side.  The rain should move in around noon tomorrow, when it is around 40 degrees.  The rain should continue for a couple hours, and this is where the forecast gets tricky.

Depending on how quickly the atmosphere and ground cool, the snow could begin by 3 p.m., as the weather channel thinks, and or could not mix in to around 7 p.m.

Depending on the timing, the snow amounts could range from nothing to up to five inches.  One model puts us in a 35% chance of four or more inches of snow, but other models show us not getting more than half an inch.

I will continue to update you on the storm throughout the day tomorrow as more details become clear.  The snow should end between 3 and 6 a.m. Sunday.  The high will be around 42 with a low around 30 degrees.
