Up to Three Inches of Snow Possible Monday Night in Westport

Up to three inches of snow may blanket the area tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

 

Old Man Winter might have at least one more trick up his sleeve.

According to the National Weather Service, a wintry mix could bring up to three inches of snow and sleet to the area overnight. The forecasts for tonight and tomorrow by that service are as follows:

  • Tonight: Snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 1am, then freezing rain and sleet between 1am and 2am, then rain and sleet after 2am. Low around 32. Breezy, with a east wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  • Tuesday: Rain, mainly before 3pm. High near 44. East wind 12 to 17 mph becoming north 6 to 11 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. West wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

The Department of Motor Vehicles is canceling ALL ROAD TESTS statewide on Tuesday until 1 p.m., when previously scheduled appointments for that time slot and afterwards will be held. Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date.

The numbers to call are 860-263-5700 if someone is within the Hartford area and toll-free 800-842-8222 for those outside the Hartford area. DMV is also attempting to contact customers with road test appointments to advise them of the schedule change.
