Old Man Winter might have at least one more trick up his sleeve.
According to the National Weather Service, a wintry mix could bring up to three inches of snow and sleet to the area overnight. The forecasts for tonight and tomorrow by that service are as follows:
- Tonight: Snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 1am, then freezing rain and sleet between 1am and 2am, then rain and sleet after 2am. Low around 32. Breezy, with a east wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
- Tuesday: Rain, mainly before 3pm. High near 44. East wind 12 to 17 mph becoming north 6 to 11 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. West wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
The Department of Motor Vehicles is canceling ALL ROAD TESTS statewide on Tuesday until 1 p.m., when previously scheduled appointments for that time slot and afterwards will be held. Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date.
